England tour of Sri Lanka confirmed

Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has confirmed that the two-Test home series against England. Which was postponed in March, has been rescheduled early next year due to Covid-19 concerns.

Sri Lanka to host England:

14 to 18 January: First Test at the Gaul International Cricket Stadium, Colombo

22 to 26 January: Second Test at the Gaul International Cricket Stadium, Colombo

The England team was in Sri Lanka in the middle of their second four-day warm-up match. When the ECB requested SLC to return home due to the outbreak virus. Allowing the series to be reconsidered in the future.

The latest announcement regarding the series comes as a big shot for Lanka. Who are yet to make a comeback to international cricket as the epidemic brought the game to a standstill earlier this year.

Sri Lanka were to end their international hiatus in September by hosting Bangladesh for three Tests. But the BCB refused to comply with the mandatory 14-day quarantine period for the visiting party and to reschedule SLC said.

Sri Lanka have two Test matches to play in South Africa from 26 December to 7 January. Just before this home series against England starting on 14 January. But it remains to be seen if the tour will be a one-day leg of the England tour was abandoned due to medical concerns.
