South Africa started their innings well on the ball, with Tabrez Shamsi scoring 3/19 with a brilliant bowling. Lungi Ngidi’s poor luck meant that England were let off the hook on several occasions during the match. It was a fairly good wicket at Newlands for the 1 T20I between the two teams. The pitch helped both the seamers and spinners, but it was also good for the batsmen. This is likely to be a high scoring game where a score of 180–190 would be considered equal.
Despite losing the second T20I, the Proteas could go for the match with the same playing XI. If a change is made, it is likely to make way for Janman Malan for Temna Bavuma.
Possible XI: Quinton de Kock (C / WK), Temba Bavuma / Janman Malan, Reeja Hendrick, Rassie van der Dussen, Faf du Plessis, Heinrich Lalassen, George Linde, Kagiso Rabada, Lungi Ngidi, Tabrez Shamsi.
England have kept different players for them in this series. Winning the series after the second game gives them a chance to give some fringe players in the team. Reece Topley could potentially replace Tom Curren in the team.
Potential XI: Jose Butler (WK), Jason Roy, David Malan, Johnny Bairstow, Eoin Morgan (C), Ben Stokes, Sam Curran, Joffra Archer, Chris Jordan, Adil Rashid, and Reece Topley / Tom Curren.
Despite his best efforts, the Proteas have found themselves on the losing side in both matches against England so far.
